COVID-19 Restricted Movement Control by Government and Church Response

Dear Fellow Worshippers

With the decree by Government recently and also under the instruction of TRAC Board regarding our country response actions to the Covid-19 pandemic situation, GMC has decided to call off worship services and all church activities from 18 – 31 March 2020. To that, there will not be any church meetings, and all ministries activities (BB, GB, MYF & YAF, Sunday School), CE classes, trainings, small group meetings, and corporate prayers are to be suspended during this period. This includes our operation of the Church Tadika too.

In compliance of the government order, we therefore encourage everyone to support our government initiative not to gather in groups for social reasons.

If you are sick and in need of prayer, you may contact your Small Group Leader or myself (012 7852237) for visitation.

As for normal weekly Sunday worship, we encourage everyone to worship from your own homes and you may refer to the following website as a guide:

Bishop and TRAC president have also called for all our Methodist worshippers wherever we are, fast and pray on 22 March 2020 (Sunday) for God’s merciful intervention.

As for part of the strict order to close all worship places too, the administration office will be close and staff will work from home during this period. To ensure security of the church premises, we have ordered the caretaker to lock the gate during this period and if you have a need to access to the church, you are advised to contact Bro. David (012 2585471) or Brian Rajan (018 3153021) and myself (012 7853357). This will ensure all movement within the church is monitor and accounted for.

To that, I prayed that this unfortunate pandemic will subside sooner than later by God’s grace. In the words of King David in his most challenging times, Psalms 57: 1-2:

1 Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me, for in you I take refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed. 2 I cry out to God Most High, to God, who vindicates me.
Psalms 57:1-2

We will move forward in prayer to battle Covid-19 by God’s mercies and take refuge in the shadow of His wings until the disaster has passed. So, brothers and sisters, take courage, be calm and be at peace in Him during this period of waiting, for God is ever near us. He will surely save us.

We will keep everyone posted in the event any changes or development that the church need to response. Till then. Keep healthy and God bless everyone.

Thank you.
